Glossy displays have gotten a bad rap from the Mac community even since they debuted on the very first plastic MacBooks. Glossy displays are not a bad thing. Most personal computer customers appreciate glossy displays for the vibrant bold colors they present. The people making all the fuss about glossy displays are the stalwart reporters of the tech industry. They are almost always the most reluctant towards change, and always the loudest group to be heard. It is true the reflections perceived on a glossy display exposed to harsh directional lighting can be irritating. The remedy though is simple. Change the lighting or the direction of the display slightly.
