I am legally blind, I am a new to photography, and I am addicted to shooting photos with the old Nikkor prime lenses from the 70’s and 80’s. I am in love with their sharpness, their weight, their construction, and the sound they make when fired. Shooting with these prime lenses takes patience, expertise. and a greater sense of location. I must tirelessly rely on my camera’s focus indicator if I am able to take the perfectly sharp shots I desire. I am forced to set my camera on manual, limit its features, and concentrate on reacting to the available light. Prime lenses do not zoom so location is key. I will not change lenses but position myself to wherever the shot takes me.
