Before leaving on a flight I have the choice of taking either my Apple Newton or my ultra-mobile Asus Eee PC notebook computer. On a recent trip I had taken the Eee PC, and found its performance in the areas of productivity, and connectivity acceptable. On my last trip I had decided against the Eee PC, and took the Newton instead. By selecting the Newton I knew modern connectivity would be far more challenging than with the Eee PC. I was not able to connect to any of the available wireless networks with the Newton, but what I lost in connectivity I made up in productivity. Instead of wasting my time surfing the internet I wrote several blog posts on my Newton.
