A couple of readers have asked me about the current state of the backlight feature on this site, and how its implementation has changed since the last design revision. Let me first explain to new readers that this site once had a backlight button that would automatically toggle My Newton Blog’s backlight feature on or off. Since the last design revision this functionality has been removed and replaced with an automatic backlight that comes on between the hours of 18:00 and 6:00 local time. The backlight functionality can also be manually triggered by adding ?css=backlight to the end of any note’s URL or disabled by adding ?css=default.
