For four summers when I was in my teens I worked at the Hidden Valley Scout Camp located in the deep woods of Gilmington Iron Works, New Hampshire. The days were long, the weather was hot, and the mosquitoes could be something fierce, but no matter the hardships I couldn’t imagine spending my summers anywhere else. The funny thing is ticks and mosquitoes in general don’t bite me. It may just be because I taste bad, but I was told a more scientific explanation could be the high concentration of vitamin B12 in my blood. No matter what the reason I find my immunity the upmost blessing when it comes to partaking in any back-woods activities.
