Before you start blogging your need to have direction, you need to have motivation, but most of all you need to have a goal you are capable of achieving. When you start blogging you should not strive to be a successful blogger, but rather strive to engage in an activity you love. Discovering success, developing a community is not something you can control. You must work hard, and be committed to your blog in order to find these things, but even then it is the readers who dictate your success. A blog is not a private diary, it is meant to be shared with the world. Its measure of success the connection you make with others, the love you show in your entries.
